Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Graveney School. At Graveney we aim to provide an excellent education which not only reflects current developments but also reinforces traditional values and skills. We believe that education should take place in a disciplined atmosphere where pupils are encouraged to learn effectively. In this way, all pupils can achieve their best and become confident, responsible adults, ready to make a positive contribution to the society in which they live and work. We are a school committed to the serious business of study.

  • Graveney School Fantastic GCSE Success

Graveney produced another set of outstanding GCSE results in 2017.
Confirmation of this was recently provided by our exceptional Progress 8 Score of +0.33. This means that our students are on average achieving one third of a grade higher than similar students in every GCSE taken.
Our Progress figures in English (+0.71) and Mathematics (+0.44) were remarkable given the changes that took place to these GCSEs this year.

  • International Languages Day

This September fifty Year 9 Graveney students taught Year 8 groups and visiting pupils from Penwortham School at our International Languages Day. Languages being spoken included Japanese, Maltese, Tamil, Albanian, Arabic and many more.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make the event such a success.

Graveney School Sixth Form students have achieved an outstanding set of results at A Level.  33% of all grades were at A* or A; 61.8% at A* to B and 83% at A* to C representing a very pleasing increase in comparison to last year’s already excellent results.

  • Design Technology Exhibition

A busy year for the Design Department has been rounded off with a showcase of outstanding work by students in Years 11,12 and 13. The standard of the work was exceptional. Pieces on display range from lighting, domestic furniture, graphic products, architectural models and beautifully made textile garments.
